The Ahman Green Foundation is dedicated to serving individuals and families in need throughout our communities. Our work supports a wide range of causes, including cancer patients, Make-A-Wish, the Boys & Girls Club, Alzheimer’s awareness, Wounded Warriors, and local homeless shelters. While some of our fundraising efforts have included video game tournaments or football camps, these activities are simply tools to raise awareness and generate resources for those we serve. The foundation itself is not affiliated with video games or football. Similarly, current merchandise campaigns are designed to spark awareness and support for our mission—not to promote gaming or sports—ensuring that all proceeds go directly toward helping those in need.

The Challenge We Aim to Address

The Digital Divide + Ultimate Endgamers League, powered by The Ahman Green Foundation, seeks to address the critical issue of unequal access to digital resources and opportunities among underserved youth. In many communities, particularly those that are historically marginalized, lack of access to technology and the internet creates significant barriers to education, skill development, and future career opportunities. This digital divide exacerbates existing inequalities, leaving many young people without the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.

Our Approach and Intended Impact

Our solution is to create a comprehensive program that combines digital literacy education with the excitement and engagement of competitive gaming.

By establishing state-of-the-art Esports facilities and providing access to necessary technology, we aim to empower these youth with the skills and confidence they need to thrive. The Ultimate Endgamers League will serve as a platform where participants can develop teamwork, strategic thinking, and leadership skills while also gaining exposure to potential career paths in technology and gaming industries.

The intended outcomes of this project are multifaceted. We aim to increase digital literacy, reduce the technology gap, and create pathways to higher education and employment for the youth we serve. By focusing on historically marginalized communities, our program will help level the playing field, offering these young individuals the tools and opportunities they need to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion. Ultimately, our project seeks to create a more inclusive and equitable future, where every young person has the chance to succeed in the digital age.

Program Overview

The Digital Divide Initiative is designed to expand equitable access to technology, connectivity, and digital education for underserved communities. Through strategic partnerships and community-driven solutions, the initiative addresses barriers that prevent individuals and families from fully participating in today’s digital world.

Our proposal aims to achieve the following goals:

Increase Access: Improve access to affordable and reliable internet connectivity and digital devices for underserved communities.
Digital Literacy: Enhance digital literacy skills and provide training programs to empower individuals with the necessary knowledge to leverage digital technologies effectively.
Community Engagement: Foster collaboration with local community organizations, educational institutions, and governmental entities to develop sustainable initiatives that address the Digital Divide.

Proposed Strategies

Infrastructure Development:

Establish broadband infrastructure in underserved areas by partnering with internet service providers (ISPs) to expand coverage and reduce the cost of connectivity.
Invest in mobile hotspot lending programs to ensure access to the internet for individuals without stable housing or those who cannot afford their own connections.

Device Provision:

Provide subsidized or low-cost devices, such as laptops, tablets, or smartphones, to individuals and families in need.
Collaborate with device manufacturers and technology companies to secure donations or discounted prices for bulk purchases.

Digital Literacy Programs:

Develop comprehensive digital literacy curricula targeting different age groups and skills levels.
Conduct training workshops, webinars and online tutorials to educate individuals on basic computer skills, internet usage, online safety, and digital communication.
Establish partnerships with local libraries, community centers and schools to host digital literacy programs and provide access to training resources.

Community Outreach and Engagement:

Launch awareness campaigns to educate the public about the Digital Divide and its implications.
Establish community forums and focus groups to gather input and insights from underserved populations and tailor initiatives to their specific needs.
Collaborate with local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies to leverage existing resources and maximize impact.

Bridging Gaps: Empowering Youth Through Esports and Digital Inclusion

This project empowers underserved youth by providing access to digital resources and competitive gaming opportunities, fostering skills in teamwork, technology, and leadership, while bridging the digital divide in communities that lack adequate online access.

Phase 3: Expansion and Sustainability

In the final phase, the focus shifts to scaling the program nationally and ensuring its long-term sustainability. This includes expanding into new regions, updating technology and facilities as needed, and establishing partnerships with educational institutions and corporate sponsors. Funds will also be allocated to a reserve fund to support ongoing operations and unforeseen challenges, ensuring the program’s impact is sustained for years to come.

Phase 1:
Program Development and Infrastructure

In this phase, funds will be directed towards building the foundational infrastructure, including establishing state-of-the-art Esports facilities, purchasing high-quality gaming equipment, and developing a robust digital platform. A significant portion will also be allocated to recruiting and training a team of skilled professionals, including coaches, IT specialists, and program managers. This phase also covers initial outreach and marketing efforts to build awareness and partnerships.
